There are arrays of business and entrepreneurship opportunities available in rural India, but the only missing link is identifying these opportunities from a global perspective. Not only cooperation is needed, but the focus should also be on tangible and feasible rural development. he The World Entrepreneurship Forum is an annual forum founded by EMLYON Business School in France, KPMG S.A., ACE, Nanyang Technical University in Singapore, and Zhejiang University in China. These sentiments were reflected in the Rural World Entrepreneurship Forum, a two-day seminar that was organized under the aegis of the Environmental Forum of India (EFI) and the World Entrepreneurs Forum (WEF) at Baramati. The objective was to bring together entrepreneurs from rural as well as urban areas to encourage business and economic growth.
This international conference was inaugurated on July 5 at 9.00 a.m. in the presence of former Agriculture Minister Hon. Mr. Sharadchandraji Pawar and former deputy chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar. M.P. Mrs.Supriyatai, Advocate Ujjwal Nikam, and headed by Hon. Sunetra Pawar, President of the Environmental Forum of India. . The seminar was divided into six think-tank sessions where various topics like challenges and solutions of rural entrepreneurs, policies and strategies for rural entrepreneurship, opportunities for agri-entrepreneurship, promotion of rural entrepreneurship by high-growth organizations, social rural entrepreneurship, and the role of academia in rural entrepreneurship were discussed by eminent speakers. The delegates were taken on a tour of all the industrial units and textile parks in Baramati, one of which was the Baramati high-tech textile park. They were also taken to the Katewadi village, which is now known as an eco-village due to the environmental innovations and the business growth that has taken place there.
